About Us
Pink Sensations is a breast cancer survivor dragon boat only team based in the Durham Region, paddling out of Frenchman’s Bay in Pickering. Founded in 2004 by women connected through Hearth Place in Oshawa, our team was created to support one another, stay active, and embrace life after breast cancer.
We are a volunteer-run team, guided by an elected executive and shaped by team-driven decision-making. Over the years, we’ve proudly taken part in local and international breast cancer paddling festivals, while remaining rooted in our community.
Our mission is to demonstrate that a full and active life is possible after breast cancer.
Through exercise and participation in dragon boat paddling, cancer thrivers, both female and male, can regain that part of their lives that they lost through a diagnosis of breast cancer.
We achieve this by training and competing together and provide positive support to each other and hope for others facing cancer challenges.
We have travelled to Australia, Peterborough, Florida and Italy for International Festivals.
We are currently training, with team members proudly preparing to represent Pink Sensations at the 2026 International Breast Cancer Paddlers’ Commission Festival in France.
Curious about paddling or supporting our team? We’d love to connect.
